Waitress Denied Tip For Being Gay

Morales -- a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps -- plans on donating the money she’s received to the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides aid to wounded servicemen and women as they transition from military to civilian life.

According to her, the incident began when she introduced herself to the table -- a couple and their two children. The woman commented on her appearance, saying, “I thought your name was going to be Dan.” No further discussion of her appearance occurred, and Morales never revealed she was a lesbian.

The former Marine, who’s worked as a server for about a decade, said she’s never faced discrimination. Once she received the note, the patrons had already left, but she brought the note to her manager who “really took it to heart.”

“It’s an issue that needs to be figured out,” she said. “It’s not okay to label people and treat them with disrespect, and this is still happening.”

What do you think?
