Former Mexican President Vicente Fox has found a way to fight back against the global war on drugs and the Obama administration's war on marijuana.

According to The Huffington Post, Fox met with cannabis advocates in San Francisco on Monday to announce the formation of an international partnership dedicated to decriminalizing and regulating pot. He has become one of the most prominent voices behind marijuana legalization.

"The cost of the war is becoming unbearable," Fox said during a press conference announcing the alliance, highlighting that each day, 40 young people are killed in Mexico due to drug-related violence.

Fox fought drug cartels with force throughout his presidency, but in the years following the end of his term, Fox has aggressively advocated for legalization as the best solution to end the violence.
