Congress has until the January 19th budget deadline to pass the Dream Act and protect undocumented young immigrants.
Republicans and Democrats sat down with President Donald Trump in a bipartisan meeting today to reach a decision to protect hundreds of thousands of immigrants from detention and deportation. However, any longterm solution is threatened by Republican demands to include funding of a border wall. While Trump urged lawmakers to pass a “bill of love” to resolve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), a program that he terminated last year, he also reiterated his demand for a wall.
Here's what people had to say on Twitter.
Trump says he wants bipartisan immigration reform: "I feel having the Democrats in with us is absolutely vital ... it should be a bill of love" https://t.co/LdauHM5Apf

A “Bill of Love”? Hard to believe that the same president @realDonaldTrump that ended DACA now wants to help 800,000 Dreamers and follow, next, with legalizing 11M.
The fact is that this goverment ended DACA, TPS, and is trying to cut legal migration. Rest is just talk.

Nothing Michael Wolff could say about @realDonaldTrump has hurt him as much as the DACA lovefest right now.
