5 Things Amazon.com's Jeff Bezos Learned From His Cuban Stepdad

Jeffrey Bezos is the man of the hour right now. The founder of Amazon.com has been buzzing this week after news broke that he’s buying The Washington Post and other newspapers for a reported $250 million. The announcement came in this past Monday by longtime publisher, The Washington Post Co.

According to Fox News Latino, the newspaper’s chairman and CEO Donald Graham described 49-year-old Bezos as a "uniquely good new owner” and that the decision to sell to him was made after years of newspaper industry challenges.

Bezos was born in 1964 to a teen mom named Jacklyn Gise in Albuquerque, N.M. He never met his biological father, and when he was 4 years old, his mom married Miguel Bezos (nickname, Mike), a Cuban who migrated to the United States at 15. Jess was legally adopted by Bezos.
