Fox News Latino reports that the men filed the lawsuit against Target on June 24 in Superior Court in Yolo County, California. They claimed the “multicultural tips” memo issued to managers was offensive.

The document described Cubans as “political refugees with legal status and a higher educational level” and Mexicans as having “lower educational level, some may be undocumented.” In an interview with FNL, the multi plaintiff’s attorney Ilija Cvetich said that the men felt that they were treated differently by their non-Latino supervisors.

“So when we saw the multicultural tips, we look at that document as potential evidence as, in fact, how the management considered our clients,” Cvetich said.
