Supreme Court Rules On Affirmative Action Case

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the only justice who was not on board with the decision to send the case back, wrote in her dissent: "I would not return this case for a second look. The University reached the reasonable, good-faith judgment that supposedly race-neutral initiatives were insufficient to achieve, in appropriate measure, the educational benefits of student body diversity."

Reports by The Texas Tribune stated that the University of Texas said it would not have admitted Fisher regardless of her race because her high school record didn’t merit entrance to the highly competitive school.
