Jenni-isms: Remembering Jenni Rivera's Best Quotes One Month After Her Death

Splash News

We can’t believe that it has been a month since Jenni Rivera’s deadly plane crash in Mexico, which also claimed the lives of six others. La Diva de la Banda was laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery and Mortuary in Long Beach, California on December 31. Since then, fans and family continue to mourn the star and the legacy she left behind.

Her daughter Janney "Chiquis" Marin tweeted lyrics from a Marco Antonio Solis song in remembrance of her mom today. “I miss you more than ever and I don’t know what to do…if you never left I would still be so happy,” she posted.

In honor of Jenni Rivera, we are highlighting some of the I Love Jenni star’s best quotes:

“I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other women. The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up,” she said during her final interview before the tragic accident.

“I had no choice but to work hard. I was a straight-A student, went to college, and I loved business. I never thought I was going to be a singer myself. It came accidentally,” Jenni expressed in an interview with Billboard.

“I really didn't care for her music—being a traditionalist, I found it improper a mujer would sing about getting drunk and flirting around and being proud of it, especially in a genre and culture in which females were expected to be classy damas,” she revealed in an interview.

For Latina's May 2011 cover story, Jenni opened up about motherhood and her love for her five children. “I draw strength from that.  If I didn’t have these kids, I wouldn’t be who I am.  I have to show them how to fight, how to love and how to make it in life.  I’m going to leave them set,” she said.

Which are some of your favorite Jenni-isms?
