NFL's Pouncey Brothers Apologize for Wearing "Free Hernandez" Hats

Twitter

Maurkice Pouncey and his twin Mike have apologized after being photographed wearing hats that read: “Free Hernandez,” the Los Angeles Times reports.

Of course, the caps were in reference to Aaron Hernandez, the 23-year-old former New England Patriots tight end charged with murder in the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was found dead in an industrial park near Hernandez’s Massachusetts home – the two were acquaintances and had been hanging out with two other people hours before Lloyd was killed.

The photos of Maurkice (who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers) and Mike (who plays for the Miami Dolphins) twin brothers wearing the black and red caps at a nightclub surfaced on the Internet this past Sunday.
