Pope Francis Rigid On Reforming “Radical Feminist” U.S. Nuns

Seems as though Pope Francis isn’t too keen on “radical” feminism. Reports are out that the new Argentine leader of the Roman Catholic Church has reaffirmed the Vatican’s criticism of a group of Catholic nuns known as the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR). The group, which represents more than 80 percent of the 57,000 Catholic nuns in the United States, was decreed by the former Pope Benedict to change its ways.

According to a Vatican report, the LCWR promoted “radical feminist themes incompatible with the Catholic faith.” The report was also critical of the group of nuns for taking a soft position on birth control and homosexuality. We can already see why this would be an issue for Pope Francis, who has described same-sex marriage as the work of the devil and a “destructive attack on God’s plan.”
