Pope Francis Never Really Wanted to Be Pope

It turns out Pope Francis didn’t really want his position.

According to MSN Now, the first Latin American pontiff in history said he “didn’t want to be pope.”

The 76-year-old made the remark during a chat with children from Jesuit schools across Italy and Albania.

During the conversation with the little ones, which took place last Friday, Pope Francis brought his guard down and reportedly told the kids they could ask him whatever they wanted.

According to the Associated Press, the Pope’s confession came after a bright-eyed redhead asked him flat our if he had wanted the coveted title within the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope Francis also joked about living in a two-room suite at the Vatican hotel instead of the Apostolic Palace for "psychiatric reasons,” adding that he wanted to avoid become isolated.
