Skip the wine, and break out the lime and salt: Pope Francis expects Mexicans to have plenty of tequila handy during his visit to the country later this year.
In a video posted to Facebook, the Argentine pontiff can be seen greeting an enthusiastic Mexican visitor to St. Peter's Square on New Year's Eve. The Mexicano shouted in Spanish, "We're waiting for you in Mexico!" Pope Francis walked over, and asked, "With tequila or without tequila?"
The Mexican visitor responded: "With a lot of tequila!" Pope Francis then walked away, smiling and probably dreaming of bandera shots.

The pontiff will kick-off his visit to Mexico on Feb. 12. He plans to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, San Cristóbal de las Casas and Tuxtla Gutiérrez in Chiapas, Morelia in Michoacán and Ciudad Juárez, which borders the U.S. city of El Paso, Texas.
We seriously doubt Pope Francis will go shot-for-shot with any locals, but we hope he makes good on his promise to imbibe in the national drink. Remember, tequila makes you crazy, so drink responsibly. Salud!
