Recent polls suggest that the immigration bill, which is still awaiting passage in the House, is currently being backed by a large amount of Americans.
According to The Huffington Post, an Associated Press-GfK poll released in April showed that 63 percent of Americans favor providing a legal path to citizenship to the 11 million undocumented immigrants already in the United States. But, the poll also found that 34 percent oppose the idea.
A Washington Post/ABC News poll revealed that 64 percent of those in the U.S. agree with increasing the number of border agents by 20,000. Although that number decreases slightly to 53 percent, when the cost of how much it would take to achieve this is revealed.
NBC News/The Washington Street Journal also released a poll surrounding the proposed immigration measures. This poll found that 52 percent of Americans are in favor of allowing undocumented immigrants a road to citizenship.
