What should have been a normal shopping day, transformed into a massacre of innocent civilians on Saturday at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to Fox News Latino, among the 62 victims killed was a 68-year-old Peruvian named Juan José Ortiz Iruri, who was a retired tropical disease specialist for UNICEF. Ortiz Iruri was with his 13-year-old daughter, Juanita, when Islamist militants began shooting.
Ortiz Iruri, who had lived in Africa for 25 years and worked in Kenya, Zimbabwe and Liberia, was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. His daughter suffered a hand injury, but luckily, survived.
