WATCH: PBS 'Latino Americans' Series Chronicles Contributions

It is the first major documentary TV series about Latinos.

PBS is launching a landmark three-part, six-hour series called, Latino Americans. The documentary will chronicle the history and experiences of Latinos who helped shape the United States over the last 500-plus years.

Adriana Bosch, the Cuban-born filmmaker who created Latino Americans, told VOXXI she wanted to disprove the idea that the Latino population is one that "just got here the day before yesterday."

“It shows we have been part of American history from since before there was a United States and that we continue to contribute to the American history and to share the sacrifices, the struggles and the successes of this nation,” Bosch said.
