Mother's Day Parade Shooting: 19 Injured in New Orleans, Police Seek Gunmen

Mother’s Day had a violent ending during a New Orleans parade on Sunday. Nineteen people were wounded, including two children, after gunmen opened fire during the event on Sunday.

According to Reuters, police are looking for three suspects in the case, also revealing that the motive for the violent crime is unknown. Ten men, seven women, and two children were injured during the shootout. Two of the victims underwent surgery and the two kids are in good condition.

“This is an extremely unusual occurrence, and we're confident that we will make swift arrests,” expressed a police spokeswoman Remi Braden, according to CNN. No one has been taken into custody as of yet.

Violent crimes in New Orleans are above the national average in FBI surveys.
