A Latino military veteran is set to receive the Purple Heart today, reports Fox News Latino. Spc. Arael Lopez-Lopez will receive the honor for injuries he suffered in Afghanistan during combat in 2012.

Study Finds Latinas Still Hit Hardest by Gender Wage Gap

A new study by the National Women's Law Center has revealed that minimum wage may be affecting the wage gap that exists between men and women.

According to NBC Latino, the study shows that the average gender wage gap in states where minimum wage is above the federally mandated $7.25 per hour is actually lower than in states that meet the $7.25 criteria.

Pope Francis Never Really Wanted to Be Pope

It turns out Pope Francis didn’t really want his position.

According to MSN Now, the first Latin American pontiff in history said he “didn’t want to be pope.”

The 76-year-old made the remark during a chat with children from Jesuit schools across Italy and Albania.

I don’t usually date conservative men—I can’t say that I have come across that many of them as the daughter of a theater actress. But when I got a message from a cute guy on a dating site complimenting my personality and my witty status updates—I decided to take a chance, despite the words “right wing,” “strong opinions” and “Lou Dobbs” being in his bio. Though he seemed a little square from my usual (tucked-in button down shirt in pictures, stiffly worded messages), he seemed different from anyone I had dated, and hey, sometimes opposites attract.
