Latina Teen Pregnancy Rate Down 40 Percent

A new report released by the CDC confirms that Latina teen pregnancy is down by 40 percent. The report’s lead author, Brady Hamilton, found significant drops in all states, but the Mountain States of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Utah saw rates decrease by 30 percent or more.

We think it's safe to say that Jose Canseco will never get a social media job. The former All-Star outfielder actually live-tweeted the moment Las Vegas police arrived to his home after he was accused of rape and, get this, included the name of his apparent accuser.

In a series of poorly-written tweets, the Cuban-American former baseball slugger also included the apparent victim’s phone number and details such as “_____ told the police that i druged her and then raped her.hmmmmm.lets find out what really happened.”

Where are the Latinos in Pennsylvania? The state's Governor Tom Corbett (R) can’t seem to find any.

“We do not have any staff members in there. If you can find us one, please let me know," the elected official said during a roundtable discussion hosted by Spanish-language newspaper Al Dia News in Philadelphia, when asked if he had Latinos on his staff.

Harvard University Study Says Election Officials are Biased Against Latinos

A new Harvard University study suggests that it may be more difficult for Latinos to gather election information from voting officials. Political science graduate students Julie Faller, Noah Nathan and Ariel White discovered that local election officials were less likely to reply to emails signed with Spanish names.

By now, you’ve heard the news. Web pioneer Yahoo announced this week that it will buy Tumblr (everyone’s favorite blogging service) for about $1.1 billion.

According to The New York Times, the deal would be the largest acquisition of a social networking company in years – even more than the $1 billion dropped by Facebook’s to purchase Instagram last year.
