The 29-year-old Puerto Rican soldier has served in Iraq and Afganistan and considered it "a great privilege and a honor to get the chance to dance with the first lady."

Medina revealed to "Inside Edition" what they talked about during the dance. "She just said 'hi' to me, congratulating me on being selected, and I just told her that she was beautiful and that she had a beautiful family, and she smiled at that," he said. "She was trying to get to know me. Behind the scenes, she wanted to talk to me more."

He also hinted that the first lady wasn't completely at ease.

“When I took the stage, she seemed nervous," he noted. "I don’t think she was ready for all of that attention.”
