Legislators Vow to Protect Children Being Targeted by Sex Traffickers

An estimated 20.9 million men, women and children are trafficked for commercial sex or forced labor around the world.

Of those 20.9 million 26 percent are children, according to the International Labour Organization.

Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, CA-D, has reintroduced the Child Trafficking Victims Protection Act in order to protect vulnerable children at the border.

The reintroduced CTVPA bill proposes that trained professional in child welfare be placed at Border Patrol stations to help identify victims and ensure they are provided with basic humanitarian assistance, including food, clothing and blankets.
