Justice Sonia Sotomayor never misses out on a chance to make us proud to be Latinas.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced on Monday that the U.S. Supreme Court Justice will receive the Leadership Award at the 29th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards.

The award show, which will take place in Washington D.C., will be held on September 22 to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of Latino leaders in various fields and celebrate cultural pride. They are considered among the highest honors for Latinos by Latinos.

 "The Justice truly embodies what it means to be an American," said Jose Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. "The Hispanic community has made significant contributions throughout history, and we are proud to recognize that impact in the present and the future as well."
