Jodi Arias was found guilty of first-degree murder today.

The Arizona woman took in a sharp breath after the verdict was announced today in a courtroom. She is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in June 2008.

The widely followed case has been in court since January 2, and has been wrought with twists and turns, including lies and very graphic images. Jurors heard closing arguments last Friday. CNN reports that those who would decide Arias’ fate deliberated for 15 hours and five minutes before they reached their decision.

According to CNN, Arias’ conviction means Arias could face the death penalty. As we have previously reported, Alexander (who was an executive at a marketing company) was stabbed repeatedly and shot almost five years ago.

He and Arias met at a convention in Las Vegas and were once in a long-distance relationship. Arias has said she killed him in self-defense after he attacked her.

What do you think of the verdict?
