Authorities briefly shut down a terminal at the New York City airport after they received a report of a suspicious package left unattended, according to Reuters. A Homeland Security K-9 unit checked into the bag around 8:30 a.m. in the depature section of Terminal Five, Joe Pentangelo, a spokeman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said.

Pentangelo also went on to say that the roadways to the terminal were closed but after the package was cleared the terminal went back to normal operation. This evacuation comes just a day after suicide bombers blew themselves up at an airport in Istanbul killing at least 41 people and injuring hundreds more.
