A 14-year-old girl said she was raped by three different schoolboys in the bathroom at Miami Carol City Senior High School in Florida.
The teen, who remains unnamed, said she was attacked and raped anally while at the bathroom by another ninth-grader. “I was going to leave, and he grabbed me by my sweater, and he held tight, and so I was going to pull and leave, and he wouldn’t let me go.”
The teen told WSVN, that when word spread about what happened other nine-graders started approaching her.
“The third time, it was after school, and I was supposed to stay after school for math, and there was a guy asking me if I could go to the restroom with him.” The 14-year-old says the other boys forced her to perform oral sex. In a statement from October when she told a teacher about what happened she wrote, “…he grabbed me tightly by my hand, and he got me into the boys’ bathroom … I couldn’t breathe. I [was] choking and crying.”
The school district decided to suspend the boys and the girl from school. The girl's mother said that even though the girl had written that she was choking and crying during the encounter, the school still called it consensual and noted she didn't scream or run away.
The school district told WSVN that school district administrators in conjunction with Miami-Dade Schools Police are thoroughly investigating and that any information regarding the case has been provided to the State Attorney’s Office as well as the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Two days after the girl's report was made, the girl's mother said that an investigator arrived at her house to tell her that one of the three boys who allegedly assaulted her daughter was HIV-positive and that one of the boys has gonorrhea.
Although the girl has started taking medication, it will be another year before doctors are able to determine if the teen contracted HIV from the boy who allegedly assaulted her.
Despite this, she is said to be having a difficult time convincing the school district to all her to transfer to a different high school.
The girls family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help pay for any treatment and for the therapy that she is taking.
