George Zimmerman's Racist Comments on MySpace Hate on Women and Mexicans

MySpace may be a social media platform from the past, but it has unlocked some very interesting details about George Zimmerman. The abandoned profile of the man being charged with second-degree murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin includes a reference to his former girlfriend as a "ex ho" (jeez, we hope she never looked back!), and racist remarks, particularly about Mexicans.

His profile states: "I dont miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street, soft ass wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin) dont make you a man in my book. Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!"

His lawyer, Mark O’Mara, has confirmed that the abandoned 2005 account belonged to his client, reports the Miami Herald. Zimmerman, who claims that Martin attacked him and he acted in self-defense, identifies as part-Peruvian. And although that is (obviously) different from Mexican, we still think it's shameful to spread hateful and racist comments about others, no?

The comments he made add to the issue of race in the case. The Martin's family lawyer Benjamin Crump commented in the Washington Post, "It’s not just speculation and innuendo. He has a history and a habit of profiling people. He thinks certain things about certain racial groups."

Tell us: What do you think of his racist remarks? Do you think this will affect George Zimmerman's case?
