Zimmerman Not a Racist, According to FBI Report

In a report released by the FBI, a detective states that while George Zimmerman was "overzealous" and has a "little hero complex", he is not racist.

The report comes after attempts by the FBI to look into Trayvon Martin's death for any civil rights violations (though the agency hasn't released any findings), according to Fox News Latino. Zimmerman's ex-fiancee had told FBI agents that Zimmerman had never been prejudiced or racist. She "observed Zimmerman as he socialized and played basketball with white, black and Hispanic men," the FBI report said. "Zimmerman's friends were all from these racial groups."

The exception was his documented rant on MySpace, where he wrote about dealing with Mexicans. "I don't miss driving around scared to miss Mexicans, walkin on the side of the street, soft as wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around."

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed youth. He has pleaded not guilty, claiming self defense.
