George Zimmerman, who was acquitted for the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin earlier this year, was arrested last month folowing a domestic dispute with his girlfriend Samantha Scheibe. And although Scheibe, 27, had called police at the time and provided a testimony, now she says she no longer wants to press charges.
According to Good Morning America, not only has Scheibe decided she wants the charges against Zimmerman dropped, she also stated she wants to be with him again. In a sworn statement, the 27-year-old wrote: "I do not want George Zimmerman charged. When I was being questioned by police I felt very intimidated...I believe that the police misinterpreted me and that I may have misspoken about certain facts in my statement to police." Scheibe added that Zimmerman "never pointed a gun at or toward my face in a threatening manner" and "I want to be with George."
This is not the first time Zimmerman was arrested following his acquittal. In September, the 30-year-old Florida man was involved in a domestic altercation with his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, and her father. Charges on that case were dropped as well.
