Travel Visas from Cuba to U.S. On the Rise

It appears more Cubans have been making their way to the United States.

According to Fox News Latino, Granma -- a Cuban Communist Party newspaper -- reported on Friday that the number of Cubans receiving non-immigrant visas to the U.S. has jumped to 79 percent this year.

Granma states that United States Interests Section in Havana, Cuba issued 16,767 travel visas in the first six months of 2013, compared to 9,369 in the same period last year. Figures were confirmed by officials at the Interests Section.
