Connecticut Shooting: Adam Lanza Identified as Gunman

The armed gunman allegedly responsible for the Connecticut shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut has been identified as Adam Lanza, 20. There may be a second unidentified shooter at large, but officials haven't confirmed yet. His brother Ryan Lanza, 24, is currently being questioned. The violent crime left 28 dead at the scene – 20 children and eight adults, including Lanza.

One of the deceased includes Lanza’s mother, who worked at the school as a teacher. In a press conference, Lieutenant Paul Vance confirmed that the shooter committed suicide at the scene. According to ABC, the murderer was armed with four weapons and was wearing a bulletproof vest.

President Barack Obama held a press conference earlier today about the tragic event. He emotionally talked about the "beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old" who were killed at the school. "We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics," he added.

Our deepest sympathies are with the families of the victims.
