Two of the three brothers, Onil Castro, 50, and Pedro Castro, 54, suspected of the kidnap and rape of three women have been released. Ariel Castro, 52, admitted to acting alone in the crime, which included a 10-year rape and torture of Amanda Berry, 27, Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michelle Knight, 32. The Puerto Rican suspect is facing four charges of kidnap, one for each woman and the 6-year-old child whom he fathered with Berry. He was also charged with three counts of rape.

According to ABC, his bail has been set at $2 million per victim, leading to a total of $8 million. Castro, who is currently on suicide watch, confessed to luring the victims into his car and using them as sex slaves throughout the duration of their captivity. Knight was abducted first in 2002, then Berry in 2003, and finally DeJesus a year later.

At first, the young women were kept chained in his basement and repeatedly raped. When their “spirits were broken” they were allowed to enter the upper levels of his home, according to an official. Castro would serve cake and dinner to celebrate the anniversaries of the victims’ abduction days, reports The Daily News.

Berry, who managed to escape the household first, was forced to give birth to her daughter Jocelyn, now 6, in a kiddie pool on Christmas. Knight revealed that she had been impregnated by Castro five times and was beaten until she miscarried each time. She was then forced to deliver Berry’s baby and perform CPR, since the newborn was not breathing when she was born. She confessed that Castro threatened to kill Berry if the child didn’t survive.

While Knight remains hospitalized, Berry and DeJesus have returned home to their families. “I grabbed her and hugged her. I didn’t want to let go. I feel like this is a dream,” said DeJesus' mother Nancy Ruiz during a press conference yesterday.
