Chita Rivera is throwing a huge 80th birthday bash...and the best part is we’re all invited!

The Tony Award winning singer, actress, and dancer, who initially wanted to quietly celebrate her birthday, changed her mind and decided to use her talent and fame to give back.

According to the Huffington Post, Rivera will be performing a one-night-only Broadway concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The October 7 show, which will be held at the August Wilson Theatre, will feature Rivera backed by a full orchestra and several guests, including Tommy Tune and Ben Vereen.

The actress, who actually turned 80 in January, is an on-stage legend. She originated some of Broadway's most memorable and celebrated roles, including Anita in 1957’s West Side Story, Rose in 1960s Bye Bye Birdie, and Velma in 1975’s Chicago.  All of her roles will play a part in the birthday bash.

Rivera acknowledges how lucky she’s been to perform such acclaimed roles, and is eager to revisit them. “You know when you have a fabulous experience? Seldom are we allowed to go visit it again,” she said, “I’m able to do that.”

The Broadway star broke many barriers for Latino entertainers. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009, and was the first Hispanic ever to receive the Kennedy Center Honor in 2002.

Despite her age, the performer has no plans of stopping. She will take the birthday show on the road next year with a trio of musicians.
