Half of the Children in Dominican Republic are Living in Poverty

The conditions of the schools are just as grim as the percentages above. Nearly half of the schools have no drinking water and close to 60 percent have no toilets.

Dominican Republic’s President Danilo Media has previously pledged to spend 4 percent of the country’s GDP on education. That percentage is higher than any of the previous governments in the country’s history.
