Tatiana Lozano Pereira confessed to stabbing her teenage son to death because she couldn't deal with his sexual orientation.
Local media outlets are reporting that Pereira lured her 17-year-old son, Itaberli Lozano, to their family home after a heated argument on Christmas Eve. Lozano was ambushed upon entering the house by his mother and two people she had hired to beat her son up to "teach him a lesson."
But as the beating went on, the 32-year-old mother changed her mind — she wanted the two men to kill him as he was lying on the floor, defenseless. When they refused, she took a kitchen knife and stabbed him herself. Her husband was charged for his work in disposing the boy's body.
Pereira told police her and her husband took the body from the house to a cane field and burned it. The charred body was found on January 7. The mother admitted to her part in the crime in the first investigation and offered up the names of the two men she hired.
According to relatives, Lozano was rejected by his mother for a while about his sexual orientation even before the murder.
