Victim Michelle Knight spoke out during the Cleveland man's hearing. “I spent 11 years in hell,” she said. “Now your hell is just beginning.”
Castro apologized to his victims, "I am truly sorry." Then proceeded to say that he was not a violent person, but rather a pornography addict. He blamed his actions against the victims on his addiction.
CNN reports that the court in Cuyahoga County is seizing Castro's property and imposing a fine of $100,000 on him, in addition to his massive sentence.
The three women — Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight — were kidnapped at separate instances by Castro between 2002 and 2004.
"You will die a little everyday," Knight told Castro at the hearing.
At the time they were kidnapped, Berry was 16, DeJesus was 14 and Knight was in her early 20s. They were freed in May after a neighbor heard cries for help from inside the home, followed by Barry kicking through a door and crawling out with her child.
