Ariel Castro Pleads Not Guilty to Newest Charges

Ariel Castro, the Celeveland man accused of holding three young women captive in his home for over a decade, was arraigned on Wednesday with an extensive additional amount of charges.

According to Fox News Latino, the 53-year-old is now facing a 977 count indictment which includes 512 counts of kidnapping and 446 counts of rape. Castro has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

In addition to rape and kidnapping, these new indictment charges also add on seven counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of felonious assault, three counts of child endangerment and one count for posession criminal tools.

Castro's trial is scheduled to begin on August 5, but Fox News Latino reports that this date could be pushed back if the defense requests for more time to prepare.
