The Cleveland home which Ariel Castro owned and used to hold Michelle Knight, Gina DeJesus and Amanda Berry captive, was demolished this morning.

According to Fox News Latino, Castro was not only sentenced to life without parole plus 1,000 years, he also had to agree to pay $22,268.83 for demolition of the home as part of his plea deal.

The Cuyahoga Land Bank acquired the Cleveland house of horrors last week, and the electricity was shut off on Monday after friends and family of Castro went to his home to remove all personal items.

Prosecutors say Castro cried as he signed over the deed and mentioned his "many happy memories" there with the victims.
