Argentina’s president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is now an abuelita!
Fernández’s son Máximo Kirchner and Rocio Garcia welcomed a baby boy late Sunday night at Buenos Aires’ Otamendi hospital.
They named the baby Nestor Ivan Kirchner (the name Nestor obviously stemmed from Máximo’s late father Néstor Carlos Kirchner, who served as the President of Argentina from 2003 to 2007 and died in 2010 from a reported heart attack).
According to the Huffington Post, the country's state-run news service Telam reported the baby news on Monday.
The news brought waves of good wishes in Argentina's social media, and Fernández herself can’t stop tweeting about her new grandson, even posting about his sleeping habits (he sleeps face up, in case you were curious).
Yesterday, Argentina’s leader has expressed gratitude on Twitter to those who congratulated her on becoming a grandma: “How everything changes, no? The only thing that doesn’t change is love….”
Congrats to Fernandez and her growing family!
