Aaron Hernandez's Fiancee Pleads Not Guilty to Lying Under Oath

Aaron Hernandez's fiancee Shayanna Jenkins pleaded not guilty to a perjury charge in connection with Hernandez's murder case, reports Fox News Latino.

Jenkins was arraigned on Tuesday and apparently broke down on the stand after prosecutors approached her in an "extremely aggressive" manner. She was released on personal recognizance, although a Bristol County prosecutor requested that Jenkins be held on $5,000 bail.

Prosecutors had alleged that Hernandez's fiancee destroyed evidence and hid a box which was important to Hernandez on the day Odin Lloyd's body was found near their North Attleborough home, but that she lied to a grand jury about her actions.

According to Boston.com, if Jenkins is ultimately convicted of this perjury charge, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
