
The 6 Most Fascinating Latino Stories of the Year

A lot can happen in a year - stories both big and small. Stories that made our hearts ache and others that made us shake our heads in disbelief. And they've all been fascinating. We racked our brains and picked a handful of Latino news stories that were just that.
One of this year’s most touching (and heart-wrenching) stories was that of 27-year-old Vicki (Victoria) Soto, a teacher who sacrificed her life for her first-grade students during the horrific Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Jim Wiltsie, Soto’s cousin, told ABC’s Good Morning America that she was “definitely a hero.” “Her life dream was to be a teacher and her instinct’s kicked in and protected her children from the harm that was coming.”
