Although Lady Gaga did not join the long list of artists recruited by Zack de la Rocha's Sound Strike in boycotting her performances scheduled for Arizona, the eccentric pop star took a moment to speak out against SB 1070 while performing in Phoenix over the weekend. "I got a phone call from a couple really big rock and rollers, big pop stars, big rap artists, and they said, 'We'd like you to boycott Arizona because of SB 1070,'" she told the cheering crowd at US Airways Center. "I said, 'Do you really think that us dumb [expletive] pop stars are going to collapse the economy of Arizona?"

But that does not mean that Gaga agrees with what is going on in the border state. "We have to be active. We have to protest," the 24-year-old star urged her fans. "I will yell and I will scream louder...I think it's important that people understand that it's a state of emergency for this place and this state!"

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
