After two years of experiencing the most exhilarating, inspiring and historic presidential election this country has ever seen, Barack Obama can officially be declared the 44th President of the United States of America!

Latinos turned out in record numbers this year, making us a crucial voting block that can no longer be ignored in national politics. We held the key to many important western battleground states such as Colorado, California and New Mexico and mobilized in greater numbers than anyone could have ever predicted. Young and old, Republican or Democrat everyone had an opinion and turned out to VOTE and make themselves heard!

Tell us: How do you feel about the 2008 Presidential Election? Suffering from election fatigue? Are you happy with the results? Or numb from all of the coverage?

Be sure to check out our Election Reaction Video, to see what other people just like you were thinking as the results came rolling in!

About this author

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
