Obama Eats Tortilla Soup With Mexican President Felipe Calderon

The President-elect broke bread with Felipe Calderon on Monday and vowed that his administration will build an even better relationship with Mexico. With only eight days to go before he is sworn into office, Barack Obama held up a long-standing tradition that the incoming American president meet with his Mexican counterpart before taking office.

The two leaders ate tortilla soup and discussed the North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement, immigration and crime, which is rapidly spiraling out of control in Mexico. Obama insists the United States and Mexico can turn an already strong relationship into something much stronger.
