Actor Esai Morales on SB 1070: "Our People Are Not the Enemy"

We caught up with Esai Morales at the recent Latino Baseball MVP awards hosted by Latino Sports Ventures in NYC and had a chance to chat up the La Bamba star. The hot button issue on everyone's lips was the possible boycott of the 2011 MLB All-Star game, currently slated to be held in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field (home of the Diamondbacks). So we had to ask the Boricua actor what he thought about the new immigration laws in Arizona, and he gave us this moving answer.

Check out the video below—and to learn where each state stands on the immigration debate, check out our interactive map. You may be surprised by legislation happening in your very own home state!

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
