Abrazame Mucho: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez & King Juan Carlos of Spain Hug It Out

Reuters

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has put aside petty quarrels with King Juan Carlos of Spain and offered an open embrace. Chavez, who seems to really love the sound of his own voice and is known for his lengthy speeches, angered King Carlos last year by interrupting a speech given by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. The King was already annoyed with Chavez after he had called former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar a "fascist" at the Ibero-American summit in Chile. Chavez's interruptions were the last straw for King Carlos who barked, “Why don’t you shut up?” But it seems that neither party holds a grudge over the dispute. Chavez recently referred to King Juan Carlos as an “old friend” during his weekly address saying the King has invited him to his summer home on the island of Mallorca this Friday the 25th. Moral of this story? Hugs not war!
