Street Named After First NYC Immigrant Juan Rodriguez

This one is going down in the history books! Researchers have discovered that the first immigrant to settle in New York back in 1613 was a Latino. Yesterday marked the 400th anniversary of Juan Rodriguez’s arrival. Hundreds of neighbors gathered the streets as city officials named a stretch of Broadway, between 159th and 218th streets in Upper Manhattan, after the Dominican immigrant.

Being overweight in America is not easy. I know because, although I’m at a healthy weight now, I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. At my highest, I ballooned up to 230 pounds (at just 5’2”!) and wore size 18 clothes. Well, to be honest, I really should have been wearing size 20 pants but I refused to go up that high. Instead, that was the moment that I realized I needed to finally do something about my obesity.

Pat Robertson needs to just shut up. Someone please zip up that mouth of his permanently. The televangelist received a call on his show The 700 Club from a woman struggling to forgive her husband for cheating on her.

Robertson’s response? “Well, he’s a man.”

He also wants you to not talk about the cheating. Just stop it.

The octogenarian went on to share his wonderful advice on how to fight through to forgiveness, saying that the woman should begin to focus on why she married her husband in the first place.

A woman plans on entering her daughter into a beauty pageant this fall. One small thing: the girl hasn’t been born yet. According to MSN, mom-to-be Jenny Oliver is due to give birth in July and has already signed up her kid in a “Bonnie Baby” pageant in September.

At least six people were killed and dozens were injured after a string of powerful tornadoes hit two neighborhoods in North Texas on Wednesday evening. Authorities are searching for seven missing adults in the town of Granbury, just outside of Fort Worth.
