Everyone is all a buzz about Selena Gomez being kissed very publicly by the Beibs at last night's Billboard Music Awards.
As Selenita enters the world of celebrity PDA we thought we would remind her that there are some dos and dont's. It’s quite alright to be affectionate with your man. In fact, we encourage it! But try to avoid these easy PDA pitfalls by learning from these celebs’ past mistakes.
1. PDA: Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony
NO: Proprietary Grabbing
The way that Marc’s hand is cradling J.Lo’s tummy makes us wonder if he thought she was with child. Only she wasn’t. This is a definite don’t.
YES: Show Genuine Affection
Their spontaneous display of love for one another during a recent performance felt more appropriate and made us root for this couple!
2. PDA: Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem
NO: Getting Overly Cheek-y
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are arguably the hottest couple on the planet, but that doesn’t mean it’s alright for them to have fistfuls of booty.
YES: Be Discreet
The couple played it way cooler on this vacation, with an already pregnant Penelope covering up in a one-piece and the duo actively avoiding the paparazzi.
3. PDA: Cameron Diaz & Alex Rodriguez
NO: Feeding Each Other
We know that Cameron Diaz had no idea she was on camera when she was lovingly feeding a somewhat reluctant Alex Rodriguez during the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean it was acceptable.
YES: Take Care of Yourself
Self-sufficiency is always sexy, especially when taking care of basic human functions.
4. PDA: Jessica Alba & Cash Warren
NO: Sour Puss
You’re in love, remember? When you’re out on the town with your man, doing something awesome, like watching a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game from the sidelines, it’s OK to have fun.
YES: Smiley Face!
See? Much better.
5. PDA: Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon
NO: Damsel in Distress
We’ve come a long way from the Victorian era, so ladies, let’s refrain from swooning or leaning on our men like we’re about to faint, even if we’re wearing six-inch Louboutins.
YES: Miss Independent
This is what we call emancipation! Go, Mimi!
