Our Modern Latina Bride Gets Married!

I got married last weekend and I couldn’t be happier… I’m positively glowing! A few days before the wedding, it felt as if I had saved up all the stress that most brides experience through the wedding planning process for the last few days. There were so many last minute things I needed to do and small details like menus and ceremony programs to handle.

The morning of the wedding was pretty crazed, I was about to walk down the aisle when we realized that my two nieces shoes didn’t fit. Someone had to run out and grab them new shoes. Then we had to move the ceremony indoors due to rain, but I managed to stay positive and just held on to the superstitious belief that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Phew! It was a whirlwind day, but we pulled it off and thankfully it was all worth it. Walking down the aisle, committing to Hector, celebrating with all my friends and family, and—being the fashionista that I am— wearing not one but two beautiful dresses (well, just because) made it all worth it! My only regret is getting there 30 minutes late and not dancing as much as I wanted to.

But, at the end of it all, I danced the one dance that mattered most—my first wedding song, “At Last” by Etta James—with my one true love.  I can’t wait to show you all the pictures, but until then I’m off for my “mini-moon”!
