In the times when women have difficulty just getting a text back, this couple's love story shows there's still hope for a Nicholas Sparks-worthy ending.
George and Ora Lee Rodriguez passed away holding each other's hands on Tuesday after celebrating 58 years of marriage this past June.
"He was working as a butcher, at Tony's meat market on Culebra," said Corina Martinez, one of their three daughters. "He met her there."
After serving as a Marine, the two San Antonio, Texas high school sweethearts married and continued their love story together.
Unfortunately, both developed dementia and George had a stroke a few months ago. On Tuesday, George passed away in his sleep, and three hours later, Ora Lee passed on as well.
"I just can't believe something like this would ever happen, you hear this on movies ... like 'The Notebook," said Martinez.
"My mother would always say that she was going to take my father or vice versa," said Georgia Perez, one of their other daughters. "And it did happen, we didn't think it would, but it did."
So just in case you're jaded, this story should be all the proof you need to know that soulmates are still out there.
