Watch What Happens When Ex-Lovers See Each Other After 30 Years

They say that love conquers all. That distance makes the heart grow fonder. Y un clavo saca a otro clavo. Honestly, when it comes to love, we have tons of cliches. But what is real or merely said to help mend a broken heart? Is love as powerful as we hope? Artist Marina Abramovic and her ex-lover, Ulay, may just be answer.

The couple met in the 1970s and had a hot romance. Profoundly in love, they ended their relationship in a big way — with an embrace after walking The Great Wall of China. They didn’t see each other again until 2010. At the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in NYC, Marina presented her artwork and would share a minute of silence with each person who sat in front of her. Well, on opening night, Ulay surprised Marina. He sat right in front of her like so many others, and the moment was beautiful.

So, yes, love does make the world go round. It makes grown men cry. It moves us and shapes us, and doesn’t have to dissipate with time and space. This is what happens when we are deeply in love. And that is no cliche.
