Dominican Girl, 14, Set to Compete in Scripps National Spelling Bee

Yulkendy Valdez's story is truly inspiring! The 14-year-old spelling champ spoke no English when she immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic with her family just four years ago. Since then, she not only mastered the language, but also began acing spelling bees all across the state of Missouri. She recently earned a spot in The Scripps National Spelling Bee, taking place later this month.

NY Teen Rearrested for Hate Crime

20-year-old Grigory Korostyshevskiy of Staten Island, New York was recently rearrested on hate crime charges, on accusations that he beat a Mexican immigrant with a belt, just a few short weeks after it seemed as though charges would be dismissed.

Popular Miami Based Priest, Father Cutie Caught in Sexy Scandal

Popular Miami Priest Alberto Cutié was caught in a compromising position when racy photos of the Father cavorting with a lady love on the beach were printed in TV Notas yesterday.

Father Cutié had a popular radio show in which he dispensed love and relationship advice but since the scandal hit, his show has been temporarily suspended and he's lost his position as pastor for a South Beach area church. Father Cutié has since apologized for his actions.

Mexican Citizens Quarantined in China Return Home

After being quarantined against their will by the Chinese government, dozens of Mexican citizens (none of whom displayed signs of being infected with the swine flu virus) returned home today. First lady Margarita Zavala waited to greet the passengers as they arrived at the international airport in Mexico
City.
