This week you’re crushing on the host with the most… Cristián De La Fuente! Tomorrow, the Chilean American actor will take the stage alongside Lucero to host the 12th Annual Latin Grammys. We’re excited to see the show, of course, but the experience will be that much sweeter with De La Fuente behind the mic…
Next Slideshow: Crushing On...Kevin Alejandro
This week, Cristián De La Fuente crushed his competitors for your heart – and there’s really no question why. With his pearly whites, the 37-year-old Chilean American actor steals the spotlight with his role as Dr. Rodriguez on the ABC hit Private Practice. De La Fuente also has a recurring role in ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Because of his ridiculously good looks, it’s a given that we’ve also seen De La Fuente in telenovelas as well. He has guest starred in Fuego En La Sangre (Fire In the Blood) and Corazón salvaje (Wild Heart).
You may also recall De La Fuente from the sixth season of Dancing With the Stars. The stud captivated us on the dance floor alongside his partner Cheryl Burke and despite an injured arm, pushed through to third place in the reality dancing competition.
Kevin Alejandro first caught our attention as the tough-talking Nate Moretta on the acclaimed cop drama Southland, but it's been his turn as the powerful demon/brujo Jesus Velasquez on HBO's True Blood that really got us all worked up! The Mexican American actor grew up in small town Texas before heading to Austin for college, which could explain his cowboy swagger. His big blue eyes and sculpted physique make Alejandro crush worthy, but it's his skill as an actor that take this hottie to the next level. You can catch Alejandro in Kevin Smith's controversial new horror film Red State, out on DVD October 11!
William Levy is a Cuban actor (and not surprisingly, a former model) who has been garnering attention lately, not only for his smoking hot good looks, but for his work in popular telenovelas opposite former RBD star Maite Perroni. He's currently making waves in the United States thanks to a steamy appearance in the latest music video for "I'm Into You" off of Jennifer Lopez's brand new album Love? He is currently starring in a play in Mexico City and has taken some time off from telenovelas after the incredible success of Triunfo del Amor (once again with Perroni). You may have to wait a while before he hits the screens in your living room again, but until then, enjoy the video. We can see why everyone was whispering about his white-hot chemistry with La Lopez!
Jorge Ramos has appeared in our television sets since the 80s – and since then the silver-haired Mexican journalist has brought us some of the most important stories of our time. In addition to his light eyes and rugged nose, the Univision newsman’s resume make him crush-worthy; 53-year-old Ramos has won 8 Emmy awards for his work in journalism and his name has appeared in Time’s “The 25 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States,” among other lists. If that isn’t enough to make you swoon, Ramos has also authored bestselling books and has interviewed some of the world’s most influential leaders (President Barack Obama, Fidel Castro, and Al Gore, to name a few). Most recently, Ramos narrated a documentary film titled Infiltrados, about the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, i.e. FARC.
Evan Longoria made his major league debut for the Rays in 2008, and was named to the American League team for the MLB All Star Game his very first year—talk about making a good impression! Known for keeping his cool in pressure packed situations, Longoria launched the Rays into the post-season this year with a walk-off homerun that nudged his young team past the Red Sox in the Wild Card race. His adorable smile and dashing good looks are what have kept us watching him. Although the Rays were knocked out in the first round of the play-offs, we're sure we'll much more of this Mexican American baseball star in the future!
Miami-based rapper Pitbull dominated the voting for this week's crushing on! This 30-year-old musician held down the cover of Latina's June/July annual Hot Guys issue so we're obviously in agreement here. Not only is the sexy Cubano always uplifting and elevating his culture, but he's also got a pair of killer baby blue eyes and he knows how to use them. This magnetic pop star has such a charming manner about him that he's managed to collaborate with just about everyone in the music game these days, from J.Lo to Gloria Estefan and the world is starting to notice. His last album Planet Pit has spawned a solid #1 hit ("Give Me Everything") and we're sure that's just one of many more to come. Before you know it, this hottie is going to be even more in demand than ever before! Maybe that's why he changed his well known nickname, Mr. 305, to Mr. Worldwide!
Wilmer Valderrama had us laughing out loud earlier this year with the hilarious spoof videos he made in character as his alter ego Eduardo Fresco, but that's not the only thing the hottie comedian has in the works. He also has a prominent role in the upcoming NBC multiple-reality cop show Awake as Detective Efrem Vega, and this past weekend, he totally turned on the charm to woo the tough Emmy crowd as a member of the Emmy Tones, the comedy glee club assembled for the awards show. He's also just been tapped to star in the big screen remake of CHiPS, due out in 2012. In other words, prepárate for a whole lot of Wilmer in the near future. We have a feeling you'll be just fine with that!
55-year-old Andy Garcia has had women swooning ever since he first burst onto the Hollywood scene back in Brian De Palma's The Untouchables back in 1986. Since then, he has had a formidable career, going on to garner an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in The Godfather Part III. In 2005 he took the next step in his career, co-wroting, directing, and starring in The Lost City. Since then, he has gone on to direct and star in a slew of smaller, independent films. He has In four children: Dominik Garcia-Lorido (August 16, 1983), Daniella (January 3, 1988), Alessandra (June 20, 1991) and Andres ( January 28, 2002).
Ahh, the beauty that is Mark Sanchez! We have to admit, we squealed with joy when the NY Jets landed him in the NFL draft because it meant that this Mexican-American cutie would be that much closer to us, and it seems we're not the only ones who have been feasting upon his hotness. From coast to coast (Sanchez was a super star starting quarterback at University of Southern California before he made his way east) most women would give just about anything to catch a pass from this QB. But the things we love most about the Sanchise are the most unexpected, like the fact that he's a HUGE musical theater fan, or the touching relationship he struck up with a terminally ill young cancer patient last year. We guess it really is what's on the inside that counts, but Mark's got the outside to match and that's why we're crushing on him hard this week!
Robert Rodriguez is the sexy director of such indie classics as El Mariachi, but he hit the big time with his Spy Kids franchise, which brought in mega-bucks at the box office. But more than the huge amount of cash he's able to generate, we love this director's commitment to casting and featuring Latinos in every aspect of his filmmaking. From Desperado (which introduced Salma Hayek to the American audience) to Machete, he's always gone out of his way to highlight the talent of our diverse community. Rodriguez is also an excellent father to his five children with ex-wife and business partner Elizabeth Avellan. A great dad who always represents and supports his heritage? ¡Que sexy!
California native Michael Trevino was born to Mexican parents and raised on the sunny West coast before hitting it big as Tyler Lockwood on CW's Vampire Diaries. As the shows resident werewolf, he's inspired legions of fans to chose sides with the fierce and furry creatures. He's also dabbled in performance art, appearing in a video opposite the infamous Lindsay Lohan for Tyler Shields.
Gael Garcia Bernal
As if we needed any more reason than those beautiful baby blues to love us some Gael, he also happens to be actively involved in Amnesty International and directed a series of amazing short documentary filmed called Los Invisibles all about immigrants passing through Mexico from Central and South America. In additional to be an amazing actor, he also seems to be a loving father to his two chldren, son Lazaro, 2 and daughter, Libertad, 4 and half months old. For a yumminess two for one, be sure to check out Gael reuniting with his BFF Diego Luna for the third time in the American Spanish-language comedy film Casa de Mi Padre opposite Will Ferrell (yup, we said Will Ferrell).
We've had our eye on the second basemen for the NY Yankees for a while now, he was even featured on our guys page of Latina magazine, last year. But he's had a breakout 2011 season and even won the Home Run Derby on an all-Latino sluggers team chosen by last year's home run champ David Ortiz (aka Big Papi). The cutest part about the whole thing was that Robi had his father pitching to him! It's just another example of how sincere the 29 year old baseball star is. Cano, a native of the notoriously talented pueblo of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic is now a three-time All Star and a World Series champ but he still takes time to give back to his home country through his work with the American Red Cross. Here's the relationship advice he had to share when he was featured in our mag. Swoon...
Q: I’ve been dating this guy for a while and he just stopped calling. What should I do?
A: I would say you should call and find out what’s going on. Instead of saying, “Oh yeah, he’s not coming back,” or “I don’t want to bother him,” maybe something happened. Maybe the guy’s in a bad situation; maybe he’s thinking too much or has family problems. So I think you should call and ask the guy if something happened or go to lunch or dinner and maybe talk to him. Good communication is the best thing.
The third and youngest child of singer famed Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias is currently the best selling Latin recording artist of all time. The Spanish pop singer’s latest single “Dirty Dancer” has climbed to No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and features R&B singer Usher and rapper Lil Wayne, and Iglesias has his feet firmly planted in cross-over king territory. This Galician hottie recently announced a tour alongside our favorite Miami-native Pitbull and up-and-coming bachata star Prince Royce. You can already hear the crowds of screaming chicas, right? Unfortunately, Iglesias is off the market. Paul Rodriguez Jr., son of the famous comedian by the same name, distinguished himself as a teenager with his mad skateboarding skills—but we noticed him, well, because he's really, really cute! Born in Rancho Cucamonga in 1984, this California born and bred hottie landed his first skateboarding sponsorship with DNA Skateboards at the tender age of 14. He went pro in 2002 and never looked back. Rodriguez is now sponsored by NIKE SB and you're going to see a lot more of him as they launch their new extreme sports Just Do It! Campaign entitled "The Chosen". Paul is also a daddy, he has a 2-year old daughter named Heaven Love Rodriguez.
Rafael Nadal was born in Majorca, Spain in 1986. The 25 year-old (he just celebrated his birthday on June 3rd) is ranked as the number one tennis player in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), but he also ranks first in your hearts! The Spanish hottie has taken the tennis world by storm over the last few years, and is now widely regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time. His historic showdowns with Roger Federer is the stuff of legend, and he just beat the Swiss tennis player on clay for his 6th consecutive French Open win, tying Bjorn Borg as the winningest French Open player of all time. Just last year he won the Grand Slam, becoming the youngest winner in history to acheive such a feat. Nadal is a tennis God—his good looks are just frosting on the cake!
Anthony "Romeo" Santos is the lead singer, song-writer and composer for bachata supergroup Aventura, but he recently embarked on his first ever solo effort, titled Formula. Living up to his namesake, the first single to drop off the new album is a melodic love song called,"You," and it seems like even on his own, he's still got to goods to get the chicas swooning. The Bronx-bred hottie is the child of a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, making him well-versed in the Caribbean music genres he calls home. Aventura has been credited with bringing bachata to an international audience.
You voted for Carlos Ponce, one of the character voices in the #1 movie at the box office, Rio. Talk about fine like wine—at 38, he just keeps getting better with age. We just can't get enough of those gorgeous eyes. Dreamy.

Tito El Bambino's music career started in 1996 as half of the reggaeton duo Héctor & Tito. In 2004, when they decided to go separate ways, Tito hit the scene as a solo artist and eventually ventured into a more tropical, Latin pop sound. He’s friends with fellow reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee, and artists that have worked with Tito always have the nicest things to say about him. You ladies picked a winner!
John Leguizamo is back with a vengeance in the format he loves most: a one-man Broadway show called Ghetto Klown. He also had a starring role in last week's Lincoln Lawyer alongside fellow crush Michael Pena. Johnny Legz always brings the laughs and as all of us chicas know, the real way to a ladies heart is to make her smile. We've seen his new show and we loved it, so we totally understand why you love HIM!

You all have the biggest crush on the gorgeous Oscar Isaac. We don’t blame you — he is very nice to look at. Some of you may remember Isaac as Prince John in Robin Hood, and this week you can see him in Sucker Punch (out March 25) where he plays another villainous character. Can’t get enough of the talented actor? Pick up the April issue of Latina (on newsstands now) to read our article on him.
Ok, so you guys have a major crush on Carlos Arroyo! The boricua b-ball player just signed to the Boston Celtics; he was formerly a point guard for the Miami Heat. Even more exciting, he's also a talented reggaeton artist. Here are the vital stats (that us ladies care about) on Number 45:
Height: 6’ 2”

Team colors: Green and white
Bonus: Arroyo put out a single last year called “Se Va Conmigo.” Check out the video here.
You may remember him from small roles in critically-acclaimed films like Crash and Million Dollar Baby, but now Michael Peña is a big name in Hollywood. If you’re headed to the movies this weekend, you’ll be able to check out the 35-year-old actor in not one, but two different movies: Battle: Los Angeles (currently holding down the #1 at the at the box office), and the highly-anticipated courtroom drama Lincoln Lawyer. We predict an Oscar nomination for Peña in the near future.
Proud new papa Javier Bardem stole our hearts this week! We can't say we're that surprised, Bardem looked like a gallant old school gentleman as he walked his bombshell wife Penelope Cruz lovingly down the carpet and past the media frenzy at the 2011 Academy Awards.
Bardem also turned 42 this week! Happy birthday Javier, we're still seriously crushing on you...
Bruno Santos won Latina.com’s fashion week edition of Crushing On. The Brazilian Santos, 31, came from humble beginnings in his hometown of Minas Gerais, where he sold trinkets as a young boy to help his family. Now, he’s one of the most in-demand male models in the fashion world! You may recognize him from the Guess Jeans or Jones New York ads and with smokin’ looks like these, we're sure they’ll be more for us to drool over in 2011. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted!
He won the Revelación del Año award earlier this week at the Premios Los Nuestro but Jencarlos Canela also won your hearts, with a little more than 50% of the vote.
Why do we love him so? According to Jocelyn 'Zyanya' Reyes Chavez, one of our facebook friends, “He's handsome and manly. Has a bit of mystery to him.”
But don’t feel bad for Pitbull, whose video with Jen Carlos for their new song “Tu Cuerpo” dropped yesterday, he ran a solid second for your affection.
Judging by our poll results, it seems that the Puerto Rican-Filipino crooner Bruno Mars charmed us all with his stellar performance at the Grammys. Not only did he win his first Grammy Award (Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Just The Way You Are”), he also won the hearts of all those watching. Was it his throwback style, his voice, the suit? It was the whole package.
PS: Bruno Mars announced dates for his Hooligans in Wondaland tour this summer.
The tribe has spoken and we're crushing On Mike Catherwood. We knew this Cali radio VJ was going to be a big contender for this the day we got a glimpse of his hotness when he sat in as a co-host on Live! With Regis and Kelly. Even Kelly loved him, calling him "Mark Consuelos 2.0"!
With a radio name like Pshyco Mike, who would've thought this Mexicano could be both perfectly normal and super cute?
Mauricio Umansky is a 40-year-old Mexican real estate agent from Los Angeles. You may recognize him from Bravo’s Housewives of Beverly Hills—he’s Kyle’s husband. This tall, dark and handsome gentlemen isn’t just easy on the eyes (even his name screams sexy!), he also has a good heart. Umansky plans on writing a motivational book targeted to the Latino community. This is what he told us when we asked him what the appeal of Latino men is: "We’re great lovers. We believe in chivalry, I still do. And we know how to have fun."
